PERMACULTURE

This project is presented to us as an excellent opportunity due
to its magnitude, location and type of population that allows us
not only to look for solutions for the needs of the place (Tetuán,
Madrid, Spain) but also to seek solutions for global needs
produced by the global crisis: economic, environmental,
resources, energy... We are aware that alone we are not
capable of giving all the responses to these needs, so we have
been inspired by already existing and sustainable alternatives
that could be put into successfully practice on our plot
inhabited by a small community that could receive a new way
of life in the urban environment in which it is located and
export it to the rest of the city.

This existing alternative is PERMACULTURE (Agriculture and
Culture permanent) Permaculture is a system of agricultural
design principles and economic, political and social based on
the patterns and characteristics of the natural ecosystem. David
Holmgren devised an ethic of Permaculture based on three
principles Fundamental Ethics: Caring for the Earth, Caring for
People, and Fair Sharing.

These ideas from the world of agriculture have been translated
into the language of architecture to not only respond to the
problem of the project (the creation of 120 homes) but also
contribute in a small way by proposing a viable and sustainable
alternative of life exportable to the rest of the urban
environment,
