WINTER HOUSE
The project statement expressed the need to design an
emergency house that could hold a family of 4 and that was
capable of being enlarged.
The students had to choose the climate where they would
work. In our case, we chose a cold continental climate, and as
such we had to consider the insulation and thermal bridges
while maximizing the hours of light that can illuminate and heat
the house.
We propose an emergency house designed with 100%
reusable plastic that starts from a 10m2 room for two people
and that can grow to a 40m2 home for 8-12 people. The house
is made up of a series of plastic pieces and hollow plastic
pieces that are light to transport and build by 2-3 people that
once assembled are filled with a mixture of sawdust and sand
to achieve greater insulation and sustainability. The use of
plastic gives us lightness, impermeability in the material itself
and a certain thermal insulation that we can compensate when
designing specific refillable and assembleable pieces (taking
care of the joints between pieces), only thanks to the
adaptability and freedom of plastic that also allows us to design
furniture attached to the pieces that allows the user of the
house once built to move into it with everything you need.
Finally, being able to construct the house out of from reusable
plastic help us reduce the environmental impact.
